wow, 1 john

Ok, so I admit that reading one book over and over and over and over again is both a huge blessing and a challenge. I’m finding myself getting bored with the text, BUT- praise God- He is also revealing more things to me every day through these repeated words.
FORINSTANCE:
2:22-23 – “No one who denies the Son has the Father. Whoever confesses the Son has the Father also.”
This theme of Jesus being the Saviour and Christ is definitely repeated through this book. And, to me, those two verses right there pretty much defeat anyone who will accept God, but not Jesus as Savior. You CANNOT have the Father without the Son. Period.
There are a ton of promises laid out in this book too, as well as assurance of salvation (5:13)
FORINSTANCE:
-We are pure, as He is pure (3:3)
-We are righteous, as He is righteous (3:7)
-God is love, and to love is to know God, and TRUE love is that which Jesus showed us on the cross (4:7-10)
-Through Christ, we have both truth and life (5:6-12)

There are seriously SO many more, but I haven’t the time since I’ve gotta get to work.
BUT- I pray you are encouraged and blessed by reading these wonderful promises of the Lord to His children through Jesus.
